Ian Gillan of Deep Purple Plays Air Guitar
Woensdag, 23 januari 2008Ian Gillan, singer of classic rock band Deep Purple, can often be seen air guitaring during one of the gigs of the still very active band. And quite rightly so, since the band offers multiple chances to perfect ones air technique, as Pelvis Fenderbender, world # 3 in 2005, tells us: ‘In my compulsory round during the World Championships I had to play the second solo of ‘Smoke on the Water’, from the ‘Made in Japan’ album. No sweat! Who doesn’t know this classic riffing by Ritchie Blackmore?’ Other favorites of air guitar players around the globe are ‘Woman from Tokyo’, ‘Fireball’ and ‘Black Night’ . By the way, most air keyboard players prefer ‘Child in Time’.
